Very interesting...would be a great retirement gift for a person who started "back then"... . Dennis

That's a great idea! Buying it for a gift would be a noble act, I'd be happy to do my part.

Thanks,

Celebrating the first 10 years of IPSC. The 1st of the 5000 was hightly engraved and inlaid and presented to IPSC, who raffled it off to raise money for the organization. I don't think this model has really achieved any special status as a collectable, yet at least, but they are good shooters. CH

Yeah we did. Faith carried the flag where I used to, and I marched with the costumed group from the Winter Arts Fair (I was the highly costumed halibut fisherman chasing, and ever failing, a seven-foot-tall halibut mistress). Pretty fun...
Not really a lot of interest in this pistol, is there...?

They don't attract the same attention than the revolvers of that era do. I used one for a training program that had me firing a 1K rounds in about 3 days. That was a 4006 pretty much the same design and it worked flawlessly. Pistols seem to go in and out of fashion. This one will make a good shooter but it will some day be a collectable. Just takes the right buyer, or not, then it can spend another 20 years in the safe.

I'm not going to bump this anymore and let it fade away into the back pages of this listing. I am going to re-list it over on the S&W forums. So if you stumble across this add and are interested please send me a PM or post on the forum, but it may have already sold on that forum, or not. CH
