just thought I'd share a bit of what passes for a good time in the place I call home.
the gig is to use as much homemade material and DUCT TAPE as possible and float down the river with the other crazies.
some follow the rules better than others as you can see
lots of em had giant sling shots to launch water balloons at the bystanders, steam soakers etc.
and here we go
I'm pretty certain when we sing our anthem and mention the land of the free, the original intent didn't mean cell phones, food stamps and birth control.

this last one just cracks me up, it's just a guy with bottles taped to him floatin down the river holding up his entry sign. Dang bush got in the way.
as always it's always Bush's fault, grin

water temp 54* F (believe that's accurate) in the Chena River, it's the river that runs right thru town for you folks that haven't been here.
but I took the pix aways downstream from the bridges
left there, came home and fixed a big breakfast for my crew, guess brunch is what they call it by then.
went to 12 year old son's soccer party and bbq at 2 pm, we took mom blueberry picking about 6 pm and picked about 3.5 gallons and drug the 1895GBL and the boy's win trapper in .357 and proceeded to blow some chit up. Even got momma to put a few rounds dowrange with his rifle and her Glock. Woman never ceases to amaze me how good her hand eye coordination is, she's a good shot. (should make for a relative painless death for me someday)
all in all it was just one of those days you absolutely giddy to be alive, from get up to lay down. Hope my pards here had a great weekend as well.

Bet it was a riot to watch, Red Green is my hero, but I don't think I would buy a reloading manual authored by him. Boat building on the other hand could be worth while, I do remember how he made a Luxury Car.
Thanks for posting those pics. I see ProMusicAlaska.com had a raft there. My brother is a guitar instructor at their store.
they had a great raft, and they played "louie, louie" during the entire float that I could tell. it was cool
ironbender, how come when you're right on the rare occassion, it's always to my detriment?
