...check this out. http://www.marlinowners.com/forums/index.php/topic,59848.0.html If you're not familiar with Ranch Dog's (Michael Reamy) molds, they are specifically designed for feeding and the throats of Marlin rifles. I have a couple of his molds, they are of excellent design, good price and quality, custom ordered and cut by Lee molds. I'll be ordering the 6 cav 311-165 and 359-190 6 cav. I have both of these molds in 2 cav and can't keep up casting fast enough! I have no connection with RD molds or Michael other than I'm a very satisfied customer.

I've always wanted to get into casting, its cost prohibitive right now, but I think nothing could be better than making, loading and shooting your own bullets, especially into a critter

Yep. I cast and shoot for Marlins in 32-20, 32Win.Spec. 38-55, and 45-70. Been a few years since I used a home cast bullet on game and that was a 420gr 45 cal. fired from a Marlin Cowboy at a sedate 1416fps. Dropped a cow elk on the spot at about 80 yards. Casting is about the only way to do a lot of shooting with the 38-55 at reasonable cost which I have been doing a lot of lately with plans of hunting deer with it in a few weeks.

My 336 likes the Lyman 311291 and 311041, my 1895 CB likes the Lyman 457193 (405 gr RNFP). Shootin' lead is fun . . .
