Just saw a New in Box Y2K Beretta 9mm that was a screamer with the custom wood grips. I heard only 2,000 were produced.

Anybody out there have one that would like to tell about it?

Never heard of them. I bought a brand-new 92FS, just a few days before the big event. Had the ten-shot Clinton clips, but I got a couple of the good ones too.

ROMAC: You 'may be describing 'two' different "Commemorative" Beretta Pistols.

I have a Beretta Billenium Pistol, and a buddy also obtained one soon thereafter.

This pistol is known as a Beretta Model 92 BILLENNIUM, and was manufactured by Beretta in Italy, to Commemorate the year 2000 with 2000 units being produced from late 2001 to early 2003. Of the total 2000 pistols, 1000 were shipped for sale to the United States.

The Beretta Billennium is of All High Carbon Steel construction and is a Single-Action Pistol. It features a widened slide, a frame mounted safety, a micro-metric adjustable trigger, and has what may be called "Semi-Target" Sights. The rear sight being micro-adjustable.

The finish on the Billennium is a satin-polished nickel-alloy based finish. The slide has scalloped side-gripping surfaces. The frame features "Hypergrip" checkered front and backstrap.

The grips on this pistol should not be "Wood". The Billennium features Special translucent Carbon Fiber Grips that are quite unique.

There WAS, also (around that time) a Special Beretta 92 Pistol that DID feature beautiful Wooden Grips and the metal was High Chrome-Like Polished, that Commemorated Beretta's 474 (???) Years of Manufacturing Firearms. So, only 474 Commemorative Pistols of THAT model were then manufactured.

As to the Beretta Billennium, it's purpose in design was not only to be stikingly beautiful, but designed and built to be an extremely good shooter as well. The "box" that the Billennium Pistol comes in, is a special fashion-like designed Italian Pistol Case.

As to how it shoots ??? I will NEVER shoot my Billennium ... After purchasing my Billennium, I saved some more money and purchased a 92FS Beretta Brigadier, Inox. (Shoots Great.)
