I don't really want to start loading for another cal. I'd like to buy some 45/70 ammo loaded w/300 gr Barnes. Cor-Bon data states 1900fps, Double-Tap = 2100fps Double-Tap is cheaper and faster so I'm leaning that way.
Any experience with either of the above in a Guide Gun?
Thanks, TK

i'd got with a buffalo bore or grizzly, they are more powerful. I think Corbon has a penetrator load which is supposed to be good.

A friend of mine purchased some 10mm pistol rounds through Double Tap and they were at least 100fps off their stated velocity. If you go to AR-15 you can get the low down on various readers thoughts on Double Tap ammo. If you are looking for serious hunting loads for big game animals, I would go the route of "GARRET" ammo.
