Anyone have an opinion on the Sitka bivy 30 pack?
I wanted a kifaru, but did not plan ahead and of course they are out stock.
I'm day hunting. Hiking 5 or so miles in. I'd like to be able to pack a mule deer out. So 99% of the time carrying extra clothes, food, and emergency stuff if I get stuck out there and then 1% packing out a modest size deer.

I don't have experience with the Sitka packs but have owned a Kifaru Longhunter and currently own a Spike Camp. That said, my new go-to pack for day packing as well as 3-4 night overnights is a Badlands Sacrifice. More capacity than the Sitka 30 and about 1.5 lbs. lighter.
Give it a look. It's also a bit cheaper than the Sitka and I've seen them close to new on Archerytalk.com for close to $200

I wouldn't pick it personally, but I wouldn't hesitate to hunt with it either. I commonly day hunt with a 55 L (@ 3000+ cu. in.) pack and have had plenty of room for a boned out mule deer and gear solo. Overnight and coming out with a quartered bear worked too--buddies to split up gear can make 3000 cu. in. go a lot further.

I did a review on another forum comparing the MR Bighorn, BL 2200 and SK 30. Here are my thoughts on the 30: *Super quiet material *Good layout of pockets *Zipper pulls work smooth (waist pockets no problem to open) *Fair on compression straps My biggest complaint came with the overall dimensions. To achieve the capacity without making the pack taller, it sticks out further away from my back. I really could "feel" this when loaded heavy. I will tell you the Bighorn is the only pack residing in my closet.

That looks like a Flas 32, not a Bivy 30.

Kifaru Express, with cargo chair will handle all your day hunting needs and get a full sized boned out deer home in one trip. Also made in the USA, creating American jobs for American workers that make a great product. Badlands helps the folks of Vietnam.
Have to be OUT THERE!

I agree with Kifaru, but I would bet that Sitka and the rest is made in Vietnam or China as well! MR is another sure bet!
Good Shooting!

Hunt down a Kifaru on Ebay or in the classifieds.

Kifaru will usually have a wait time as they don't keep a large inventory on hand. They make them as the orders come in. Mystery Ranch will usually have something on hand. I'd go with either one and I love my MR Bighorn.

That looks like a Flas 32, not a Bivy 30. SteveO is correct, my apologies. I'm not sure what I was thinking or apparently reading.
