I was in a favorite gun shop in South Bend (Mid West) the day after Christmas and saw a 357 Marlin lever (used). The price they wanted made me do a double take. It was just a little shy of $700. Is $650 to $675 typical for these today? They also had a full auto AR 15 for $14,999, but I could understand that (not like, but at least understand). But, $675 for used a 357 Marlin?

Too much for me ! I bought a Rossi .357 for around $ 425 + tax , a little over a month ago . I prefer the Rossi over the Marlin , unless you plan to use a scope ? Then , go with the Marlin . God bless Wyr

I bought my 1894c new last year from Buck and Jakes in Booneville, IN for $495. They currently are selling them new for a bit over $500. Dave's gunshop in Holland, IN has 1894ss in 357 BRAND NEW for $650, if I recall correctly.
I haven't seen many used 357s around, but that price seems way out of line.

If it was an 1894 CB (Cowboy), 20" octagonal barrel, then that's actually a good price.
If it was an 1894c, they are delusional

This comparison focuses on three of the best of the breed. It was Henry Big Boy, Marlin 1894C and the 1873rd Uberti All three are represented long-term feedback can be found in the 1894C product review Page. The is the carbine version, available only in .357 Magnum. Comes with blue steel parts of metal, a reservation straight handle and a 18.5-inch barrel with a barrel band type rifle instead of a maximum current model.
