Can someone tell me about this cartridge? I believe it was a .30 cal. The history and what it was designed/used for? Were any other cartridges created from the Adolph Express?

Ruger270man- A good recent source for information on the .30 Adolph is John Barsness' article "The Circular History of the .300 Magnums". It appeared in the Fall 2010 Special Edition of Rifle magazine. He supplies some of the history of its development by Charles Newton.
The .30 and .35 Newton cartridges used the same body dimensions as the .30 Adolph, but were rimless; the .30 Adolph was semi-rimmed. The .280 Adolph Express and .35 Adolph Express likewise had similar body size, but differed in having rebated rims. Further information is in Jenning's book Charles Newton - Father of High Velocity.

I thought it was in the Ackley Handbooks, but I couldn't find it. Google it up and you will find some info. Good luck.
