I have decided that I "need" a stainless 6.5x55 with synthetic stock, and in left-hand bolt, for my general purpose gun, and since Beretta has discontinued importation of the right hand version, and never did import the left-hand version into the US, I need some help. I know the left-hand version is available in Canada, and it can be imported with a bit of effort. But does anyone know who to contact in Canada, and what the process is for the importation? I had the web-site for a shop that would do this, but I lost it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My only other option is to rebarrel my Browning A-Bolt II from 30-06 to 6.5x55, which I may have to do. Then I have to find another 30-06 to replace the Browning!

You might try Ellwood Epps in Orillia, Ontario. I bought a T3 lefty in .338 Fed. there a couple of years ago. Here's a link to the website. it has contact info. http://www.ellwoodepps.com/index.htm

I understand your pain! I watched Gunbroker for months before several appeared for sale last year. I currently have 3 RH Tikka T3's in 6.5x55 and they're all shooters. IMHO this is the perfect caliber for the lightweight T3. You might consider purchasing a LH Tikka T3 SS/Syn in 30-06 and have it rebarreled to a 6.5x55 if you can't find a LH 6.5x55 for sale. Of note, I've discovered several companies that make quality drop-in aftermarket stocks for them, Wild dog, Robertson composites, and Helmick Arms. Manners is supposed to have an ultralight hunting stock available after the SHOT show.

Beretta is the most screwed up company I have ever seen when it comes to marketing. I would buy a left hand T3 in 7-08 or 6.5x55 in a heart beat if they imported them. They don't, so I wont. Their take it or leave it attitude just pisses me off. Scrooooom!
