Some people toss their pocket change into one of these: I think it'd make a great Swap depository. "Guess how many flies are in this jug?" Tow it behind your float tube, never not have just the fly you need.

It seems like when there's no hatch going on in the river, I never know what to throw. I got 2 trout on the little mosquito larva near the bridge that would not take a dry. My friend Rick has told me repeatedly that those little midge larva are usually for still water. I've caught pond fish on them. I have a lot to learn. I saw dragonflies and damselflies last time I was out. Yesterday, there were many more. Little sulfur yellow mayflies too. I've got an allergy related chest cold right now I need to get past, and I'm going back to try to catch these fish. Trout Unlimited was supposed to floating pen stock the river from the pond up. I think 90 percent of the fish I caught were dark colored hold overs.

The Depository - Really good idea. I can visualize a few flies on tippet secured to cork - flying around. But would this be chumming?

A replacement Blue Damsel arrived today, one with all of its elements intact. I like it. The glittery dubbing looks especially attractive, at least on this side of the water- don't know that enough light to reflect is available from beneath the surface. (But who really gets caught by these nice touches?)
Thanks, MissT.

Mama, how do you put, and keep, the curve in your Damsel's extended hair body? My Benchside Reference fully explains a standard hair extension, but only straight.

curve it while wrapping (you need three hands for this maneuver), and then put head cement (in the form of Sally Hansen's Hard as Nails) over it while it's in a curved state.

Thanks. That would have been one of my expedients, had I gone it alone.
