I am trying to age a Rem with a serial number starting with "E". I cannot find the date codes on the barrel to aid in age determination. Thanks,

I have several E series actions, and the barrel codes indicate 1996-1997. So mid-90's would be a good guess.

If there is really no two letter date code on the left side of the barrel then that may indicate manufacture between 8/1999 and 10/2001 as Remington stopped stamping the codes in this time period.
