I'm in need of some new rings/bases for both a 600 Mohawk as well as my XP-100, and I'm pretty sure they both use the same, though I could be wrong. Does Talley make a set of lightweights for these actions? If they do, I must've missed it. If they don't, what's the next best option? I'm looking for a 2 piece mount, not a 1 piece.

Thanks!

If there is a 2-pc mount fo the M-600, then I'm not aware of it's existance. It MIGHT be possible to use mounts meant for a M-Seven and D&T an extra hole in the rear recv'r ring. I don't know.... You'd have to ask a gunsmith.

Or better yet, a call to Talley, would likely tell you... Ask for Customer Service...

Try using the Leupold 1 piece Dual-Dovetail base with either low or medium rings. I use this combo for all my model 7, 600 and 660 with 3 holes in the receiver. Very good set-up. I also use the Talley 1 piece base with lever-loc rings on a Rem 600. Rem 673 is the same Receiver. All will use the same bases.

Another vote for the dual dovetails. I love them on mine. I did have weavers for many many years and never had any trouble with them either.

The mounts for a 600/660/XP100 are all the same.

You can use Talley LW for a Rem M7. You (or a gunsmith) will have to D&T another hole in the rear bridge to match the M7 pattern. The rear bridge on an M7 and 600/XP100 are the same so you are not weakening the integrity of the action.

Here are Talley LWs on my 600s...

Another 2-piece route, albeit also requiring the 4th hole, is a Warne base for the Rem 7 which would allow use of any Weaver compatible ring set. For a 1-piece option EGW makes Rem XP100/7/600 Picatinny rails (aluminum) in compatible 3- and 4-hole patterns, with and w/o 20 MOA for $40. OT

OT brings up a good point that I left out. Once you properly D&T for the second hole on the rear bridge, any M7 mount will work.

just a note the newest mod-#7's do have 2 holes in the back of the action so now the same 1 peice base can be used for them and the 700SA

On my three XP-100's I have the Leupold 1 piece for the Model 7's, no complaints.

I have 1-piece Weaver bases on most of my 600/660s with either B-Square or Warne rings. Seems to work pretty well.

LW's are definitely going to be on order. I recall seeing himmelrr's rifles with the Talley's before, just wasn't sure what he had to do to get them to work.

Drilling an extra hole in the action and tapping it ain't no thang, so I'll go that route. I really dig the look of the Talley mounts. For whatever reason, I prefer the look of the 2 piece versus a 1 piece setup.

Thanks for all the input, everyone!

As the rear bridge on the XP/600/7 is lower than the 700SA most consider this an improper fit, even though one of the rear holes may align. Have not tried it myself but do know for certain an unmodified Warne 700SA Picatinny rail will block the bolt on a 7... I also decided on the D&T for the Talley LW and will give it a go when the goods arrive. OT

Idholton, Nope - guess you're right, I AM WRONG. Where I got the impression that rear bridge height/contour is different, I do not know... OT

Just scoped a 600 with a Leupold 700sa base works just fine. The 700sa one piece base will fit the 600s and both version of the model 7. The Leupold 700sa base only has three mounting holes.

Tough to get giddy about 3 fasteners and an adjustable windage rear.

Just sayin'................
