Anybody have some good recipes?
I have one cut and wrapped sitting in my freezer, and I`m looking for ideas.

The thought of eating a mountain lion hasn't ever occurred to me, but you might ask a Chinese restaurant for their alley cat recipes. laugh I'm sure that would work.

Take one tasty human...stalk, kill and eat.

Oh, you mean us cook them. grin

Let me know how it is, really curious. Also is it old or young? The older might be tough I figure but don't really know.

The first one is called:

You Won't Beleive it is Cougar!

Serves: 2 - 3
Prep Time: 1 1/4 hrs

1/4 cup soy sauce
2 - 4 lbs cougar meat
1 1/2 tbsp minced garlic
2 tbsp Worcestershire
1 lb sliced bacon
6 oz beer
1/4 tsp liquid smoke
1/4 tsp pepper

Mix all ingredients except bacon and meat in a bowl. Trim all fat and gristle from meat and then cut in to small pieces. Soak meat in mixture for 1/2 hour. Wrap half the meat in bacon strips, secure them with a toothpick and fry until done. Fry the remaining meat with out bacon for a different taste. You can flour or bread the meat prior to cooking if desired.

If you treat it like bear or pork, mix it with beef, elk or venison and make some sausage.

A friend of mine's dad trapped for several years and always had his Chocolate Lab with him.He decided to chicken fry some Bobcat and feed it to his lab, not a good plan i guess. He said the dog grabbed it from his hand and spit it out immediately. It makes you wonder why dogs are smart enough not to eat the scheit but we are not...

At some outdoor show I talked with a trapper from Canada. Forget his name but he had some title of some sort for winning some kind of competition testing your strength and outdoor skills. Anyways he lives in the bush year round and tries make use of everything he traps. He said his favorite thing to trap was bobcat and lynx. He loved to eat them, said they tasted just like turkey.

Never cooked mountain lion and the only one I have ever eaten was barbequed. Fine grain sort of sweet meat which could have been from the spices/marinade used. Reminded me more of veal than pork. No better or worse than a lot of other stuff.

In Asia, it's pretty much the norm to eat domesticated cat, so wild cats can't be far off in taste. But I'm not Asian, so the idea doesn't sit well with me.
