Remington Model 700 Mountain Rifle with lightweight synthetic stock in .308 Winchester, matte blue finish. This has a 22" mountain rifle barreled action with a B&C original Ti stock (ADL style). It weighs 5 lbs 8 1/2 ounces on my scale. Includes factory box and all paperwork.

$650 shipped in the USA. Money order or other certified funds only. First Ill take it gets it. Three day no fire inspection, if you dont like it return it in same condition as received for a refund less the actual cost of shipping it to you. If you feel I have seriously misrepresented the rifle I will refund the full amount. Not interested in any trades.

This is one of a special run for Cabelas that is the same thing as the Gander Mountain Mountain Guide rifle except this one has a smooth matte blue finish. See the Gander Mountain model here:

Remington Mountain Guide

Rifle has been professionally glass bedded and the speed bump in the barrel was sanded down and replaced by a glass pad with neutral pressure. Barrel sits just a tad to the left in the channel but the added glass pad does not apply any lateral pressure.

Round count is 148.

The rifle basically looks new except for the bedding. Condition of stock exterior is about 98%, there are a couple of light paint scuffs right at the forend tip but thats all I can see. Metal is 99%, there is a faint line that does not go through the finish where a scope mount was placed and what looks like a very fine line of bedding material about an inch long along the left side of the barrel just ahead of the receiver.

Added: The bolt body does show the normal light wear from being worked.

Selling because I just bought a new LH Model 70 and something has to go, so it has to be the only right hand bolt I own.

Good choice there Jim.

Sending a RH 700 down the road and getting a LH M70 in return is superb for a proud lefty!!

Here is my reply to a PM asking that exact same question and also if the trigger has been worked on:

No trigger work, it is a good Remington trigger with a very clean break. I am away from home this moment but will measure the exact pull weight when I get back, I'm thinking it will go around 3 pounds or maybe 3 1/2.

With the factory pressure pad in the barrel channel I was getting 4 shot groups around an inch to an inch and a quarter with 150 grain Hornadys and RE-15 and TAC. I have not shot it since it got the neutral pressure pad.

As many post on the fire, light rifles will shoot but they want to torque away from you on the bench so you have to really watch your technique. However, when just shooting from positions - kneeling and off hand - "groups" on targets 100 and 200 yards away are really no different than with my much heavier .30-06's.

It's not meant to be a benchrest or varmint rifle but it is a real handy and lightweight hunting rifle. With Talleys and a Leupold 4X scope it weighs a total of 6 lbs 8 ounces and is nicely balanced between the hands.

Hope that helps,
Jim

The finish on the metal on these rifles is usually very nice. Not that Wal-Mart pebble blasted finish!

Just went to take pictures but my camera is on the fritz, the viewfinder only shows static like a TV with no signal.

So, picture in your mind a Remington Ti, with a cheekpiece on the stock, but with a very smooth matte blue finish and no fluting on the bolt. That's what this looks like.

The rifle truly is in excellent condition, you will not be disappointed.

My trigger pull weight guess is a bit low. Just measured it with an RCBS gauge and it breaks right at 4 pounds. Knowing Remington triggers you should be able to get down to a safe 3 pounds at least without any trouble.

Okay, let's economically incentivize this thing.

Price is $599 shipped to the USA.

This will be the one and only price drop. Going to leave it here for a few days and then put it on gunbroker.

Indeed it does! Thank you!

Got a new digital camera last night but they don't come with memory chips, so had to pick one up today. I want to take pics in natural dayligh but it's after dark when my day is through, so maybe by this weekend I will be able to post some pictures.
