Anyone get the 336Y and throw one of the lightweight ramline stocks on it? It'd be under 6 pounds and likely pretty fun for a truck gun...

I've got one of those SS/lam trappers and I think it still weighs nearly 7#. I thought about trimming that fat forearm down ala 94 and swiss-cheesing the stock a bit.

I've thought the weight savings with the syn stock was over a pound. Yours is the short barreled youth model?

Mine's not the 336Y youth, it is a Davidson't limited run 16" barreled trapper. My stock is way too long for me. I like about 12.5in on a lever gun.

Wearing an XS scout mount, 2.5X Burris scout scope with Leupold QRW rings, my rifle weighs 7# 10 oz. Add a Ching sling and that'll be nearly 8#. I doubt you could whittle more than 5-6 oz worth of wood. 7.5# all up ain't bad but it ain't no Kimber.
