They may work well with a longer barreled pistol. Don't like them for snubbies. Had a 2 1/2" .357 fall out of such a rig. Lucky for me I was standing on a saw dust pile when I looked into the muzzel of my own gun.

Anybody using a "Yaqui Slide" style holster for a full-size 1911 or Commander? If so, what brand do you have and how do you like it? I'm considering one for my LW Commander. Run both DeSantis and Galco; they work very well. Agreed, DeSantis and Bianchi are my favorites

Run both DeSantis and Galco; they work very well. Agreed, DeSantis and Bianchi are my favorites While not technically a Yaqui slide, the belt slides sold by Dillon Precision are pretty affordable and you tighten the retention of the gun in holster by cinching down your belt (not necessarily a good thing?): ...plus in a nod to barbaric splendor, you can get the same in shark skin;

...when you can add so little leather and add soooo much protection/retention I could never see the point.
I have one of the original Hellweg belt sides that is much like the Yaqui slides but has adjustable retention...have not used it in years...but is was very fast and retained well...
