New to the 270 WSM, I have a bunch of MAGPRO and found a load in the Nosler book of max 72 with 130 BT, loaded 3 at 70.0. First 3 out of a new custom after 5 rounds of shoot and clean went .611 out of a sub 7 lb all up rifle. Good accuracy but I did not chrono. What I have found is that loading data for MAGPRO and the 270 WSM is all over the map. Accurate data tops out at 75.5 Anyone have any info on MAGPRO, and the 270 WSM? Or other powder recommendations with 130's?

Thanks

Magpro netted me the best velocity and excellent accuracy with my 270WSM and various 130's.

I used Accurate's load data and was able to comfortably use their max loads.

Magpro has become my favorite powder for my 270 Winchester and various other cartridges of like capacity.

Add one to the Magpro list here. I actually like RL19 better for the 130's, but Magpro has been stellar with 140's. Magpro is designed to be compressed in the short mag cases. I saw pressure signs in all the WSM's I loaded for prior to reaching Accurate's max listed load. With that, I've always been somewhere in the 71-73gr range with 140's without any issues.

Thanks nsaqam and goose. I shot 6 tonight 3 130 BT's and 3 140 ABs with MAGPRO and they shot to the same exact point at 100 and the total group was right at 3/4" A soft bullet and a tougher one shooting to the same point just might be a bonus. I am really trying to get the 130's to shoot as I have a 7-08 shooting 120's, a 280 shooting 140's, a 280 Ackley shooting 150's and a 7 mag shooting 160's Probably not a nickel worth of difference in performance on deer but just having some fun. I also loaded 3 with RL19 and 3 with RL 22 to give a try this weekend. I have a gong at 350 and will shoot the best of the 130's at 350 and see what I end up with.
Thanks Again

There's a lot of guys shooting RL-22 in the 270WSM with great results. RL-17 has worked for many as any 4350 or slower powder. Magpro was a standout as far as accuracy, velocity and consistency. AA3100 was just as good but was over 100fps slower, not that it matters, but I'll take it if its there. I also found that the 130gr NBT had the same POI as the 140gr NAB.
