I had a few hours to take my little guy out this afternoon. So I went to a nearby "hot spot" for carp and is was great this afternoon.
Two biggest were 26lb 2 oz and 28lb 6oz. My personal best is 28lb 10oz and I was sure this big one was over 30 when I was getting him close to the boat. I was stunned when he was still less the my best one. I have killed 3 over 28 lbs this year and still cannot get one bigger then 28lb 10oz. I guess I gotta keep tryin!

I just cannot stop the fun here, with the sunny weather I had to get back today and stick a few more. Two were real pigs one was 25 and the other 27 pounds


look at how sucked in the belly is on this fish. She just spawned and dumped her eggs. I would bet there was 3-4 pounds of eggs easy in her. That would have put her right at 30 pounds or better!

These are the two bigger ones of the day.

As you can see it's hard to hold them up for that self timer to go off!

I burry them under my fruit trees and plenty end up in the garden. I have given away a whole bunch to the Asian folks fishing off the pier at the boat launch. One family has filled the back seat of their little car twice now. When they see me coming to the launch they quickly run down to help me load my boat. I know they are really looking to see if I have some fish though! I would not want to use that car anymore after those stinking carp were in there! Those carp are quite fishy smelling. Imagine tossing them into the back of your car for a few hours!

A friend of mine wants me to save him a dozen or so for his Dungeness crap traps.
