I believe it is an F, it has the barrel like one.

Do they not say 99f on them? Are you saying it has the same barrel diameter as another f you have?
Can anybody else help?

That is definitely an "F", so yes featherweight. Nice rifle to take to the woods next fall. Probably dates 1959.

I would have to look in the morning, but I dont think is says F, just as EG or R isnt marked either. E's were marked and series A post 1 million guns, etc.

Bump for a nice rifle. Tal, take a look at the RH side of the barrel, just above the forearm, between the receiver and rear sight. Should see a "99F" marking. It will be "fine print"

I'm not Todd, but post-WW2 99F were all factory d&t for top-mount scope bases.

The only 99s built between 1945 and 1960 with barrel bosses for the rear sight were 99Fs.
