Hey Saddlesore, I ate a dozen jelly donuts after reading this. A Texan moved to Colorado and bought an old mule from the farmer down the road for a $100.00. The farmer agreed to deliver the mule the next day. The next day the farmer drove up and said, "sorry, but that old mule up and died last night." Well thats ok say s the Texan; just give me my money back. Cant do that says the farmer, I already spent it.
Ok then, just unload the mule.
What are you going to do with the carcass?
I am going to raffle him off.
You cannot raffle off a dead mule.
Sure I can. You just watch me. I just will not tell anyone that he is dead.
A month later the farmer meets up with the Texan and asked, "what happened to the dead mule?
I raffled him off. I sold 500 tickets at $2.00 apiece and made a profit of $898.00.
Didnt anyone complain?
Just the guy from California who won. So I gave him his $2.00 back and he was happy.
Alaska Dave. As a good Kalifornia Boy, I ought to be insulted. But, I'm laughing so hard, I just can't feel that way. E
Dave. Rode the two year old completely around te neighborhood today. Only had one incidence when there was a dog on both sides of the road. But she stopped pretty quick. BTW , In Shawnee Co, just down the road from you is where the US Forest Serice, Region 2 have thier headquarters for their packing outfit. Good article about them in the new issue of Western Horseman

If God wanted you to walk and carry things on your back, He would not have invented stirrups and pack saddles
