I'm looking at getting carbon fiber wrapped barrel for my AR10. Light weight, fast cooling, maybe more accurate?
Along this vein does any one know of a good place to look for upper recievers, besides Armalite?

From reading on other carbon wrapped barrels a LOT of accuracy depends on the barrel used. And theres been the issue of it not cooling down quickly at all. The carbon wrap being an insulator. Those that have them in regular rifles have commented that they are extremely hot to touch in the summer PRIOR to shooting.

I'd had my heart set on a setup like that for a bolt gun for hunting, but decided the expense wasn't worth the risk.
