I have lived in "Tornado Alley" all my life and have never seen anything like the devastation that hit Joplin. Even the damage from the Moore, OK tornado on May 3, 1999 doesn't seem as bad as what hit Joplin. I think the Moore tornado was the highest wind ever recorded on earth.
