Every time I see a full stocked rifle, I am drawn to them. I've seen them in various chamberings from 223 to 9.3x62
Is there any difference in accuracy from regular stocked rifles? how do they feel handling in the field?
gohip;
Our eldest daughter claimed a very much modified 1903 made '96 Swede in 6.5x55 that I'd cobbled together for my late father.
Before he passed on, he gave it back to me with the hopes that one of his many grand kids might make some use of it. As it turned out it was one of our girls that wanted it and she's made good use of it.
Here she is with it and her first whitetail, after trying for a couple seasons to get a BC whitetail buck.
This was last fall and her biggest mulie buck to date.
She likes the fact that it's over 100years old and because it's a full stocked rifle, isn't seen everyday and just like her is a bit unique.
As to the handling, if the rest of the stock and of course the barrel weight are taken into account, then they can handle just as well or better than a regular stocked rifle.
As Marseille, Mule Deer and others have noted, if the stock maker has done a good job on bedding, they will certainly shoot well enough for shots out to at least 300yds.
I'd suggest handling the rifle you hope to buy if possible and that test will allow you to know whether or not it will be a good fit for you or not.
Hopefully that was some use to you. Good luck on your search for a full stocked rifle.
Regards,
Dwayne
