I went out to the range today with my Marlin 336CS and some 170 grain Hornady flat points over 28.9 grains of IMR3031. Velocity was running at 2050 from my 20" barrel and the 100 yard results of three five shot groups are pictured. I was shooting off a bench with the forearm on a sand bag aiming at the space between the orange squares. Part of the second five and the last five are in the middle. I guess this is why I'm stuck on 3031. BTW, primers are CCI 200. Cases are full length sized and I use a Lee factory crimp die.

The orange squares are 2"x2". The group in the center cluster is 7/8" center to center the long way.

It is better to be judged by 12 than to be carried by 6.
