Could you please be a tad more specific? Countdown rapalas? Original floaters? Size? Are you using a weight to get them down?

I'm gonna tie a sutton spoon on and clip it to a downrigger release tied to a rock on a rope 30' below the canoe next time and go for a paddle.

Going with floating 3-5 inch model. No weight.

Use a bottom walker/bouncer type rig and run a 2ft leader to a floating rapala.

http://todaystackle.com/foamwalker.html

Fish in the early am later pm from 15 ft-30ft paddle near points and drop-offs.

During the day go from 30-50 ft

Should feel the bottom walker hitting the bottom when you paddle.

Vary speeds

Good luck
