Whats everyones take on each one???? I havnt shot the Axe but have the Vxs. Very smooth fast, short little bow. The problem is I have a 30" draw and the short (29.5") axle to axle my peep is at the most highest point at the bottom of the top serving and it seems its not high enough. So thats were the axe comes into play. since its a little longer (32.5) axle to axle I wonder if it would be better???

I have the Hoyt Carbon Element which is a 32.5" AtoA and with my 31" draw my peep is an inch to inch and a half below my top serving. I love the bow but if I had to do it all over I would have bought a 35" AtoA bow to get the peep lower on the string.

That's the only downside in my opinion to the short AtoA bows with longer draw lengths.

It's all preference but that's my .02 cents.

yes it is but it is 10" difference ATA. So it wouldn't be as big a difference 32" ATA to 35" ATA.

Ditch the peep. Seriously....haven't shot a peep in probably 20 years. No need if you have a kisser etc to make your anchor point consistant.

You don't need a kisser or sights either but we use them. You also don't need a kisser to have a consistant anchor.

Use what you like and have the most confidence in.

I am all about using what I like, but if a peep won't work, and you like the bow, what are you going to do? People are too dependent on gizmos.

a kisser is a gizmo as is sights. I have never had a peep fail me. I can also aim (and do practice) incase with the peep in place but not using it.

I don't consider a kisser a gizmo. It could fall off and I could still hunt regardless. Most people are paralyzed without their peep sight. A kisser cannot fail, a peep can twist etc. That being said...I cannot believe anyone would not buy a bow they liked, because of a $4 peep.

How do you figure a kisser isn't a gizmo? It surely is not needed. So falling off isn't failing? Hmmm. I guess as long as you approve it then it isn't a gizmo. Any good archer can shoot without the use of their peep should it fail. If it twist to the point you can not see thru it then aim as if it wasn't there and all you have is your string, Simple enough. If you can't figure out how to use a flat peep, then use a barrel peep problem solved. I can shoot with, without, and with a failed (yet to ever see that) peep so I am covered. But yes a peep is a gizmo as is a list of other things.

Enlighten me, can you replace a peep without a press?

I also consider a drop-away a gizmo...Nothing like needing a bow press to make a simple repair to a rest when you are in the middle of nowhere.

Any rest is a gizmo as you can shoot a bow off it's shelf. You will not find a drop away on any of my bows.

Why would you need or want to replace a peep not in a press?

Does the use of a press make something a Gizmo?????? If so then according to you a bow string is a gizmo.

Seeing as to how every bow needs a string, I wouldn't call it a gizmo. Traddy guys have the advantage in the dependable dept, although cannot say much for the accuracy and power.
