I shoot a Hoyt Magna Tec and I would like to put a new string and cable on it before Hunting season. Does anyone have any suggestion. I know that there are quite a few different kinds out there, so I'm looking for what has worked the best for you. Thank you for your input.

Go with the Zebra Twist string. No stretch and VERY strong. Flinch

Winners choice or vapor trails. Go to www.archerytalk.com and do a search for zebra and wc or vt and you will see which is best

The best strings made today use 452X fiber and I've seen some good looking ones come into my bow shop. I'm too busy to build many of my own but am very pleased with this fiber.

Some of the best looking production strings I have seen have come from Winner's Choice or Stone Mountain. My Pearson/McPherson Bows have Vapor Trail strings on them and are nice as well.

I do most of my restringing with Zebra because it's a good string but it does stretch, it's just twisted in a way that the stretch is "balanced". Zebra uses a fiber similar to BCY 8125 just like most Winner's Choice Strings except they do no pre-stretch them like WC. There is a string made by Zebra called a Tiger Twist and it uses the BCY 452 and will stretch less. The Zebra Barracuda is of similar quality to a Winner's Choice.

Gotta dissagree with Flinch. Zebra strings are junk in my opinion with Barracudas only a slight improvement. Tiger twists are the best offering from Mathews but there's still better out there........... though the average shooter will never tell the difference.

They stretch like crazy and don't last for shiit........I've owned more than a few being a Mathews shooter. Of the strings I've owned Mike Carters custom strings and cables are the best. Next would probably be Winners Choice. I've not owned Vapor Trail but heard good things!
