It cleans chit(carb/injectors,etc), I dumped a jug in shaq diesel yesterday. You might want to think twice about seafoam and diesel Tell me why Sam. I have not used it in diesel but put in the kerosene we use of out lights. The can says it is good for diesel. I'm curious as well. I just looked on their website, says it's safe but I'm not a diesel guru. They even advise to remove the fuel filter(s?) and fill them with straight Seafoam, run the engine for minute and let it soak. No way I'd go that far, just dumped a pint in with about 20 gallons of fuel and called it good.

I have a 20-yr old BCS tiller that caught fire last year. The whole fuel system got contaminated in the process of figuring out if it still had the potential to run.
Seafoam was miraculous. The chit really works.
I'm currently running an older aluminum-case Husky 61 with a 24"'bar, and a newer 55 Rancher with a 20" bar. I like them both a lot, for different things.
The Dolmar sounds great, if it's a solid notch above Husky's, it's gotta be good.
The CENTER will hold.

First of all get the proper tools for sharpening.Keep it sharp and most will perform well.I have ben running saws for a long time, worst thing for a saw is a dull chain, and dirt build up.Build restricts air flow and creats excess heat.Better to sit in shade and file than run a dull saw in the hot sun.

Another good point. BTW, no fancy tools needed. A sharp file and a little practice is all you need. Remember to lower the depth gauges as you sharpen the cutting face of the tooth. If you are making dust the depth gauge is too high. If you are laboring your saw it is too low.

I don't think moving up to the MS 260 (I ran the crap out of an 026 for years) from the MS 250 is going to do much for you. Last I knew, it was the same cubic inch displacement tweaked for slightly more power and built more ruggedly for professional use.
The MS260 is the pro saw, the MS250 is the mid grade saw. Less weight, more reliability with the pro saw......of course price will go up too.......

I'm in the market for a new chainsaw, and want some opinions on which may be best for my needs. I cut 8-12 cords of firewood a year, as well as clearing brush and limbs. Most of the trees I will be cutting are in the 10-16" range, mostly hardwood. I just got rid of a Husquavarna 340, it was a good saw, but too small for my needs. I still have a Stihl MS250 which is a good saw but a little under powered when you get into the bigger stuff. I have been looking at the Dolmars and the Makita(same saw/different name I think) in the 52 cc range. I want something that is not designed for backyard use, but more heavy duty. Reccomendations? MS 260, Husqvarna 346XP or 357XP. Dolmar is good, Echo is a good bang for the buck, but not all saws of the same brand or line are always good. 50-55cc's, 60cc's starts getting a little heavier with all brands. Buy a saw that has good support from local dealer. Of course, I still run my McCulloch Super Pro 60 mostly , but as I get older my MS260 is becoming more appealing.

If you gotta go back to 2011 to revive an old chainsaw thread you’re desperate….
