Maybe even hang a laminated chart around your neck instead of attaching to the stock? I saw where they can be put in a flip up scope cover.

I just laminate them and slip them between the elastic riflestock cartridge holder and the stock itself...

taped to the stock , inside flip up lens cover , written on stock , written on the underside of hat brim....or just memorize the chart no loosing it , no fading or getting washed away. if you dont have most of it memorized your not shooting enough:)

The flip up cover would work for a smaller dope chart.

I simply tie mine on to the front scope ring but taping it to the range finder is brilliant.

No way I could fit all of my dope on a scope cover and have the print large enought to be seen without a microscope. If you can fit this on a scope cover or memorize it and two more charts for other rifles your a heck of a lot sharper than me.

The best and most innovative way is to simply laser engrave your data to the turret.

If you want to do it old school then an Excel 3 column chart sized to the objective bell and scope tube. Use good tape and it will last quite a while and if you have the gun you have the dope.

Old School circa 1997. 962 yd rockchuck. Premier Reticles built my first prototype reticles with 2 MOA spaced dots for the windage and the range bars we now use.

Seeing that old setup gets me all nostalgic. grin

TAB gear makes a holder that slides over your sling strap. Makes it visible while you are in position.

I forgot my rangefinder in base camp on this day but we used the reticle to range the bull and dialed right on for Kevin to get his first elk at 450yds

Dope belongs with the gun, in my humble opinion. grin

I suppose you are right John, but my rangefinder is also my binos and I WON'T forget them! I also carry a spare chart in my pocket or backpack.

I also agree that having a turret with yardages has to be the very best setup. Add a leica rangefinder/bino and it probably cannot be any faster.

If there is a glitch with the yardage turret it is the different elevations/conditions one hunts. I hunt elk at 8000 ft and coues wt at 4000. Going on antelope hunt at 5500 ft next week. I realize you can interchange turrets, just haven't sprung for one yet.

I asked a poster whom apparently is quite experienced with yardage marked turrets wink about this issue. He stated that he gets by for western hunts with one turret set for an elevation of 7000'. He went in to comment that one could probably get by nearly anywhere in the US with two, one at 2000' and one at 7000', FWIW.

I agree. I also use my rangefinder for more than one rifle, and more than a few loads, which means more than a bunch of drop charts.

So what are the rifle enthusiast that have 3 long range rifle supposed to do? Memorize three drops? I guarantee that under stress you couldn't produce your entire drop chart with a 10mph drift out to 1k yards.

I use my android phone with shooter when I have time, otherwise I have the dope memorized out to 1100 in hundred yard increments. Wind is harder to remember though. I used to tape them to my stock but I always managed to tear them up or off before the moment of truth. grin

A laminated card in the pack would work for me since I always have my pack.

I wonder how often a person would be without a chart...if you had one on your rangefinder, one on your rifle and another in your pack????
