yeah I would have to check the distance but I would probably need a pit stop for gas. Bonanza cruises about 185-190 MPH and the T-6 does about 210-215 but burns about 4x the gas. It would be a good hall in a 172 or cherokee or other small single.

I'd like to be able to make it. A lot of chit can happen in a year though What he said... I've got a fairly new vehicle, my job is going well, I should have the vacation time...don't see anything that would keep me away at this point!

There will be bear brats at Manitowish Waters, August 4, 2012! Tuesday, the Savage 99 was successful, a 157 pound dressed weight male. Shot him as I was walking into stand! Dropping sausage meat off at butcher tomorrow for brats. I only had disposable camera in backpack, so once developed will scan pics of 99 and bear and get them on here. There was much larger bear coming, but only at night, and since I drug this one out by myself in small otter sled, size was about right.

I'll have plenty brats made, and I won't be bringing sauerkraut as its pretty low on my to eat list! Ketchup and mustard, probably relish too. and good brat buns, not hotdog buns..... I quit drinking 34 years ago, but I'm guessing a good beer goes well with bear brats!

Sounds like we'll have some sauerkraut for those desiring some... We have an excellent German food resteraunt (The Pines) who will provide some I'm sure. You wouldn't want me trying to make some or buying the canned stuff??? 29 pounds of bear meat dropped off at butcher will equal 40 pounds + of brats!

Being of good Pennsylvania Dutch stock, I can say only one thing about sauerkraut- yuck!! Never developed a taste for the stuff, and being in a kitchen where it's cooking triggers a gag reflex. It was a real b*tch growing up in a family that practically swam in the stuff.
I would love to taste a bear brat. Just don't tell my cardiologist.

I have been snooping out some travel options and here is where I am at: United or Delta from Manchester to Duluth, MN where I rent some wheels and then drive them like I stole them to the Land of Ed Gein and the dreaded badgers!

Never would have thought I'd see a serial killer reference on this forum. Looks like 1179 miles & 20 hours from my part of Texas. Has a date been set?
I really like lever action rifles. Sure it's romantic, but it's also very American.
