I found a pre-accutrigger Savage 110E locally, asking price is $300. It's 95% and sitting in a laminate stock, presumably a Boyds. Not sure on the mounts and rings but has a cheapie Bushnell Sportview that would be coming off very soon if I got it. My plan is to try and build a 280AI on the cheap and the Savage action and laminate stock are a goos step in the right direction.
I think it's a decent price considering the laminate stock and condition....your thoughts?

$300 is about tops for that model, but you're probably not going to get it for much less.

Yea, $300 is tops imo and I'd not pay that. IMO you should be able to find one with the accu trigger for that price.
I'd want to pay more in the $200 range for that, but I see them quite often in the $250 range here.
Walmart sells the ones with a cheap scope, the accu trigger, and a synthetic stock new for right at $400.

Does the laminate stock not increase the value somewhat? That us one less thing to have to buy on a build.

If it's a decent laminate and you like it, sure it has some value.
pre accutrigger is ok, we have one and I reworked it to a nice crisp low creep trigger.
This would be a blind mag? (top feed, no drop plate)?
I do like me some drop plate, but that's just a personal pref.
Something clever here.

I personally don't like the Accutriggers. The older triggers were adjustable, and mine is very nice.

nsaqam, nice gun! PS. Mine is showing promise with the 150 bt's again. Heading back out this weekend to wring it out long range, and get the turret right. Going to try some heavies when I have more time. Hunting season is only 2 weeks away, so going to have to run with what I have.

In the first pic, the bolt is missing, and in the second pic, it is on the wrong side!!! and, it looks to be female...no nuts.. All kidding aside, nice rifle.

FYI, seen them for $250 or so on gunbroker, but you have to factor in shipping and FFL fee...

If you want that particular stock for your setup, yes it might, but I still wouldn't pay over $250 for it. Possibly $275 if you absolutely had to have it, but I personally wouldn't pay that much. If you don't want that stock, and are going to replace it anyway, I wouldn't figure in any value for it.

This would be a budget build so the laminate stock would probably serve the purpose.
It would be a blind magazine...unless there are options to add a hinged floorplate to the Savage 110 action, then I may reconsider.

Blind mags are fine. Get an ER Shaw barrel for it if you are on a budget. They will chamber it for you, so all you need to do is screw it on. No gunsmithing charges if you have the tools.

Savage 110s come in blind mag, hinged floorplate, and detachable box magazine versions.
The stock is of course a personal preference. A Marlin XL-7 would be a better donor system, IMO, and brand new they're right close to the price you're quoting. At the very least, the Marlin would be equal.
I have had good Savages and bad Savages. I've had good Accu-Triggers and bad Accu-Triggers. You pays your money and you takes your choice.

Funny you mention the Marlin as I saw one in 30-06 for $250 in good shape at a local pawn shop. I already have a 7-08 in the XS7 and like everything but the stock. Does anyone make a prefit barrel for the Marlins yet? I haven't heard of anyone.

I am sure that if you contacted Chris at ER Shaw he could fix you up or at least let you know if they could make a barrel for it. As far as a 110E price. Lately I have seen them do a little of a price hike, am figuring it is because alot of people are using them as donors, and I am not sure how true it is, but heard somewhere that Savage has or has plans to change the barrel nut / threads on the rifles so to make it more difficult to swap out the barrel. All in all I say 300 is tops, however I wouldn't pay over 250, and I would start my offer at 200.00. If you can't get it for 250 to 275, go find a 2 year old Stevens Model 200, and use that as the donor. I saw one on gunbroker the other day for 225 I think, that was the buy now price. I am planning on doing a build on a model 116 stainless action.
