I'm thinking about picking up one of the barrel adapters for my 40-65, and it looks like there is two different models to choose from. One by Shaver and another by Crossno. Does anybody have any experience with them? Is one better than the other?

Thanks,
John

I have a Crossno liner and like it just fine. I have seen the Shaver version in use, and it seems to work as well. To remove an empty from the Crossno, you flip it out with a small screwdriver. Takes just a little practice and then it works well. I believe the Shaver liner uses a kind of separate chamber that you take out each time to reload. I prefer the Crossno liner, although I can't give you a hard and fast reason why.

Good accuracy?

One more thing: Be sure to grease it adequately, and be careful about leaving it in the barrel for extended periods.

Ask me how I know...

Accuracy has been very good.

I haven't had a chance to play with it yet. I shot it about a dozen times and then a storm came in. I bought a bunch of different kinds of ammo and now I'm just waiting for a chance to get out again.
