And I suspect I would be deserving of the hatred. But I have my envy too. Do you recall the 15 inch barreled M1895 Marlin saddle ring carbine pictured in Brophy's book? I've recently been corresponding with the collector that owns it - in New Zealand! I would love one of these - I think they built five. Another rifle that has eluded me is the M1895 lightweight in .45/70. I had a chance on one a few years back but the metal had been redone.

Now that's interesting on the 15" Carbine.
My brother found one in Alaska or Yukon(can't remember) but it was a 93 in 30-30 about 15yrs ago. It was only in decent shape, so he peddled it to a bud of mine, who latter sold it to a US collector for $1,500.
I remember at the time it was reported to be rare in baby carbine version. If memory serves me correct(& it may not) I thought the number was 64 or something like that.
Now a baby carbine in 95 in 33wcf laugh

I doubt any of the five or six M95 carbines with 15 inch barrels were made in .33 WCF. I could be wrong. Of course, for a Winchester collector, just a standard SRC in .33 is a fantastic find smile

??Did they ever actually make a .33 in SRC Win?

That would be very nice!

The one I miss is a 336 Marauder in .35 Rem. I know I traded for something, but have no idea what it was. Whatever it was, that's probably gone too.

This is a sad post for me. I had 3 336's and sold them all. Wish I'ed have kept them. 1 was in 32 spl., one was in 30.30, and one was a 24" bbl. with like a half tube also in 30.30. They all shot good as all 336's do. All 3 had the fat forend, good wood, nice blue. To think I paid $50.00 for the 32. Every gun I sell I end up missin....later
