I am looking to scope a rifle that may be used for some long range predator shooting . Have been considering several different variables that top out at 10 or 12x , these would be adequate for my needs , but the particular scopes I'm looking at don't have parallax adjustment .

I am just wondering what the opinion is of some of you long range shooters on this . I am a bit suspicious of getting the needed accuracy without the adjustment , with scopes of this magnification range , out there beyond a quarter mile or so .

By the way , I am not in your league here , but thinking of maybe 600 to 800 yard shots , and that should still give the yoties a real sporting chance anyway . [Linked Image]
I would most certainly look for a scope that has a parralax adjustment if your going to do ANY longrange shooting.

I like the 6X to 20X or the 8 1/2X to 25X Leupold longrange with the side wheel parralax/focus adjustment. They also have plenty of elevation and windage clicks built in and available to you, if needed.

For hunting 100 or 200, you could get by without the Parralax adjustment as most 3X to 9X don't have anyway. Even some 10X or 12X don't have it either.

If your going to stretch the legs of your rifle, I would get a better scope that has the adjustment.
