Just a heads-up. There is a new company out of Maine called Windham Weaponry. It was started by former owners/employees of the old Bushmaster. Right now they have a limited catalog, but hopefully they'll expand it and have the reputation that Bushmaster had before Cerberus got involved.

The reputation of batch testing bolts/barrels and other shortcuts?

Bushmaster did alright. They were the ones who started it all in the AR-15 clone field; if it was not for them likely none of what we have today would exist. Remember the Shotgun News ads in the nineties when they were the only ones advertising such items?
The products they made were of decent quality, very good in some cases. I expect that the Windham boys, once they get rolling and most likely even now, will make a fine rifle as they did before the buyouts that brought them down. How many other companies that made good stuff been brought down by the conniving of the board of directors?

Saw a Windham AR at the local shop yesterday. Nice.

I remember back in the 90's when they would set up shop at Camp Perry during the Nationals and help out shooters. Colt never bothered...
