This one seems to work pretty good. A couple medium sized ones. HW50S-.22, L3-9x33 EFR, sub zero or something laser light. Usually I'll get 5-8 in a hours time around the farm. They won't stand in the green light long and you have to be fast on the trigger. A plus is you can see there eyes back in their hiding spots and pick them off inside them. They also disappear and stay that way once you get a couple.

FVA very cool. What's the average distance? And how about FPS on that rig?

Distance is 5-30 yards. The rifle shoots right at 600 fps-JSB 14.3 gr. Jumbo Exacts. They whomp when they hit and the rats are tough critters to kill without getting back in their holes.

I grew up on an acre full of orange trees in southern california, and we had a good crop of roof rats that would get into them at night..
Of course I had a crossman pump with a flashlight taped to the forend, and a little 3x scope. jacklighting those suckers when they came over the telephone lines was big fun for a kid.
I replace valve cover gaskets every 50K, if they don't need them sooner...

I killed hundreds of those critters at night on a freind turkey farm with a Daisy 880 pnuematic...avg. distance was about 20 feet..it worked very well indeed. One of those very few critters I can kill en masse with no conscience....

We don't have enough for that but once in a while you hit one and it goes into distress squealing and all of a sudden there are rats running all over like some movie.

I would love to help you out killing rats, I hate them, mice too. Sometimes I wish someone had a rat and mouse problem, I'd do the eradication for free.

I have a rat pistol. The .177 Crosman Destroyer pellets do wonders on rats. In fact I just killed four last night in the chicken coup.

Chalk up two more for the rat pistol. They made a nest on top of the coup.
