Does anyone own or have any info on the Excalibur model #2400, this is the smallest one they make, all their other models get rave reviews but I really only want a small one. any help greatly appreciated.

Like the others I've had the large model since 1990, an Excalibur 3900 (9 tray). It is a great dehydrator, mine will dehydrate a big batch of jerky in 8-10hrs. I flip the trays around 180deg after 4hrs. Just set the temp for about 120deg, place foil in the bottom to catch all the drippings. Clean up the trays and mesh with a scrub brush in the bathtub, thats the only downside to making jerky. Oh, your whole house will smell of spices and smoke flavoring -mmmmmmmmmm!!!
The smaller model should work really well too.

Thanks Mtn Hunter, I'm gonna buy one, only now I'll have to decide on the size. Do you have any personal recipes for jerky you wanna share. Thanks again. chris......
