I'm setting up to do some BPCR loading for my Pedersoli Sharps rifle in 45-110 caliber. I'm looking to buy a couple of 500 +/- gr bullet moulds, one being the Lyman 457125 RN mould, and for the other I want to get a good 500 gr flatnose bullet. I see SAECO has a couple moulds in this category, but I haven't searched all the custom mould makers yet.
Anybody have suggestions on some good moulds for flatnose bullets in this caliber and weight?

Sounds good, Woodie. I'm prolly gonna pull the trigger on the 500 gr SAECO mould that Buffalo Arms has, but I know this won't be my last .458 mould...

I ended up not liking how much alloys were costing me to get molds to fill out to the correct diameter. I especially struggled with Lyman Molds. I ended up going to www.accuratemolds.com and I got 2 flat nose molds cut. If you don't like what he offers you can send him drawings/emails about how you want to modify one of his existing molds. I picked a diameter that is "fat enough" to fill the grooves with straight wheelweights. The mold I got is the .46-460M (.46 diameter/460 grain bullet). This ended up being the perfect "hunting" bullet in my Pedersoli Sharps as well as my Guide Gun. If you want speed throw a gas check on it but I wanted economy so I got a flat base style.

I hear ya, Cody. I've tended to go with oversize moulds and size 'em down if necessary. I prefer using WW's myself, as the alloy is cheap and plentiful, but I'll use 30:1 if I need to. I guess we'll see what kind of pills the SAECO mould throws and go from there. If I end up going with a custom mould eventually, so be it. Thanks for the link to Accurate Molds.

NEI makes among the finest bullet molds in the world. http://www.neihandtools.com/Far superior to steel molds and the variety is endless. The 458-440-GC-DD is deadly accurate and has the front driving band for accurate alignment in either loaded cartridges or for those who breech seat. It also kills things right now. Slug your bore first as NEI will make them slightly oversize if needed, Use SPG lube and a Saeco lube sizer.

In that pedersoli .460 diameter is more likely to treat you well than a .458. Take a look at the Buffalo Arms moulds.
For a flatnosed bullet the Lyman 480 gr whitworth bullet has a good following among some folks that use the 2 7/8 for hunting.

If due to the large chamber and freebore of that rifle he doesn't need a .460 diameter mould he'll be one of the lucky ones. Heck Pedersoli themselves even had a now defunct mould maker building what they called the Victory mould trying to keep those rifles shooting well.

At the various "matches" around the country you can tell the guys with their new pedersoli's and the .458 hardcast bullets... they're the ones that it sounds like a mad junebug going down range when they yank the trigger... .459 will work, .460 usually mucho grande better...
