Any reason to choose one over the other. Barnes gets all the attention, but are the others just as good.

The reason I ask is that I've found a few boxes of Hornady GMX .30 cal 150's gathering dust in an old gunshop. Guy has had them for years and has them priced at $31/box. The only local shop that carries Barnes bullets is asking $45/box.

TTSX's are very accurate and seem very easy to work up loads for, I didn't have much luck on my first try wit Etips, and have never tried the GMX's, your rifle will let you know...I would recomend ordering some TTSX's online

Those prices are much better.

I've tried some 130 TTSX in my 308's. One rifle shoots them amazingly accurate, the other not at all. Thinking about giving the 150's a try.

In my 270 Win the GMX are very accurate and flat shooting. A buddy gave me a handful to try.
At 300 metres I shot 3 X 3 shot groups.
1/ 1.27 "
2/ 1.67 "
3/ 0.66"
Got a box of Barnes on the way.Be interesting to see if my rifle likes them as much as it does the GMX.

I've used both. I like gmx better because they are ~$10 bucks a box cheaper, have better bc and I can't see a difference in on game performance.

Having never used either one, if I were to chose one it would be the GMX. I believe the TTSX is made of solid copper. The GMX is made from guilding metal. I have to think that's an advantage over solid copper. I also like the lower price. I can't imagine that either can do something the other can't do!

My .270Win REALLY likes 110grain TTSXs over 48grains of RL15.
5 shot-5/8" groups at 100yards anytime..factory barrel, Mcmillan FeatherEdge Stock and a trigger job.

Are you sure they are GMX's? Arent the GMX pretty new to the scene?

I used TTSX and they are amazing. Schit dies quick from 80 yards to 500+.

Sure, they cost a little more, but what is the worth of 100% trust and confidence in your bullet?

I've tried both in my 270WSM. I've seen very similar performance. I'm shooting the TTSX now because I got them on sale plus I had a coupon and a mail in rebate. I think they were $15 a box and I wish I had bought more.

I have had a little more trouble getting good accuracy out of GMX and E-tips than Barnes, but that all tends to be pretty dependent on the rifle. I have only used the GMX and E-tips in half a dozen rifles, so maybe that's not a big enough sample. The deer killed with them died the same, the wounds looked the same and the bullets exited.

I loaded up some 130 gr. GMX's for my father's .270 WCF last year. The muzzle velocity was ~3000 FPS. It accounted for two deer this year (one was when the rifle was loaned to a friend) and the terminal performance was amongst the best I have seen. Both were complete pass-through shots and the offside shot cavity was huge. The shots were quite different, one at 60 yards and the other at about 440 yards. The bullet seemed to perform very well over a wide range of velocities.

I've loaded the 150g .284 TTSX and the 139g .284 GMX in a 7mm Rem Mag. The TTSX was dead easy to get to shoot accurately, the easiest I've seen in that rifle. I simply picked an appropriate powder (7828 SSC) and put the bullet 0.050" off the lands as recommended.

The GMX shot quite well, but not to the same degree as the TTSX. To be fair, I haven't yet completed load development with the GMX so I can't make a final call. I believe the powder charge needs to be tweaked a bit along with the COAL. I've seen some pretty significant group size shrinkage with COAL changes, so there's still hope the GMX will be equal to the TTSX.

Neither has had the opportunity to show themselves on game unfortunately. But I'd not be afraid to pull the trigger with either bullet in the chamber.

I have very limited experience with both but after having worked a bit more with the gmx's in an '06, I found the farther off the lands I seated the bullet, the better they shot. Here's seating depth experiment at 200 yards. As you can see, the further off the lands I went, the tighter the group. The top group measured just a tad over an inch and 2 of the 3 rounds were overlapping at 200 yrds. These were relatively mild loads, 2900+ fps with a 150 grain bullet.
