Well with posts like this one we will be advocating for burning books soon. A total over reaction. Remember when Harry Potter first came out? There were church groups all over the place demanding that the books be banned from reading lists in schools because it was going to cause kids to be come witches and warlocks!

Only Christine O'Donnald became a which because of Harry Potter!

We need to use some common sence now and then and not go nuts over this kind of thing.

The gov't is big and overbearing in everyday life. The citizens resent the conditions they are forced to live in, and are not allowed freedom to travel or control their own lives in any way. The main characters find a way to beat the game as run by the gov't., and are then treated poorly for it.

Which demographic are teens likely to relate this film to, Tea Party, or OWS?

When I was a teenager, we had "The Most Dangerous Game," with Count Zaroff.

I, for one, loved it. I also have not yet shot anyone, hunted humans, or done anything else illegal.

I'm worried about bigger issues -- who will be president, whether I will be required by law to pay for health care, etc.

This movie is the least of my worries.

Quick side-story: I was in a petshop in South Carolina about 12 years ago, and saw the biggest darn gerbil in the wrold, big like a dog. I said "What the heck is that?" The long-haired kid in the tye-dyed shirt and teeny little glasses behind the counter said "Gopher! it's our newest line of pet!" A crowd was sort of gathering and looking at the little guy. I said 'Awwww...it's cute...how much?" Kid said "$250" with a straight face. When I went blank and blinked like three-four times he said "What?" And with an equally straight face I said "Out west they shoot them darn things for about 20 centsl a pop."

Room got real quiet, and for some reason, kinda cold...at least towards me

That is a big part of the problem.

IIRC the weapon of choice for the heroine is the bow and arrow. Maybe it will catch on.

I liked Red Dawn too! Those kids were straight up cappin' those commie bastids.

I remember Pony Boy had to step up and AK their former friend as well. And look at me, I turned out awesome!
