Thanks for responding --- I DID finally take it out yesterday. It still slaps the 2 1/2" gong @ 25 yards nearly every time. It's about 50/50 on golf balls at that distance. Very reliable.

Oh yeah -- from the Rimfire Central guys I've learned that the butt-stock isn't original. Someone apparently substituted it way back when.
