I have climbed from Horse Pen 40 up to North Conway out to Texas and CO and the west coast and wouldn't call myself a well traveled climber.

Well, I'm the wrong guy to ask about that. My many years in the vintage git business left me with an aversion to refinishes. I'm categorically against them on any decent instrument.

That said it sounds like it'd look cool <g>. It's more work than it might seem to do any kind of decent refin....

We've got one of the masters at it here in Eugene. His name is Jay... I'm forgetting his last name. Phuggin' memory. He was instrumental (groan) in the Fender relic'ing process, and does very high end stuff for real rock stars now. One thing he specializes in is doing proper refins on valuable instruments that were refinished badly in the past.

I think guitars are cooler when they get beat up. So tell your friend I said "no"... grin...
