That's a nice one! I'm most fond of how bobbed magazines look and the stock is nice too.

IMO, the "amateur" did a pretty good job on what amounts to a 336SC Sporting Carbine.
If it were mine, I'm pretty sure I'd trash that accordian pad, & install a black rubber buttpad.
I had to install a higher front sight on mime - just be sure to order whatever height (about .500" IIRC) with the wide "W" base meant for mounting directly in a barrel dovetail, ILO the normal medium "M" base width neant for sight ramps.
IDK why the stocker installed that 1970 100th Anniv medallion in the stock - even IF thr gun dates from 1970. Oh, well...................

. Thanks for your suggestions.. I plan to shoot the rifle next week with 150 gr bullets. I am 67 years old & the eyes aren't as good as they need to be for iron sites. If I can shoot a minute of Redfield target but high, I'll change out the front blade, if not I'll probably put a low power scope on it & use it a few times next deer season.. What kind of front site did you use?

Since I'm almost 70 years old myself, I use fiber optic front sights with receiver peep sights. .

My 68 year old eyes do good with firesights.I have one set up with a XS sight system. It is fast to acquire ,but I cannot do good groups beyond 50 yd s with it as the front sight blocks out too much of the target.
Its all right to be white!! Stupidity left unattended will run rampant Don't argue with stupid people, They will drag you down to their level and then win by experience
