This is a classic Weatherby Imperial 6x62 rifle scope. These were manufactured by Hertel & Reuss in Germany from 1954-1973. These are the only series of German-made Weatherby scopes; the other three lines came from Asia Optical in Japan. Lenses are clear and the body is unmarked. It has the original Weatherby protective lens covers with the Weatherby logo on the objective cover.

I inherited this scope from my uncle on an early 1970s vintage Browning .22-250 . The reticle appears to be non-centering. I put a newer Nikon variable on the rifle as soon as I received it and have never used this scope on anything else.

$76 shipped to the lower 48.

Damn! That would have gone perfectly on the classic 1950's Weatherby I haven't yet bought, due to being too much of a tire-kicker.

I just sold a 2.75-10 Variable that came on a 1969 vintage .240 German MK V.
The glass was better than expected and the moving crosshairs were kind of interesting. Good condition examples are sought after by Wby collectors, good buy.

Well, I'll tell you how it went, guys. I have listed this a couple of times, priced at what I thought was fair (based on some research) and never got a nibble. I was sorting through stuff in the gun safe today and realized that this scope had been languishing in there for about 22 years. I went to eBay and saw one listed for $76.

I thought to myself, "I cannot in good conscience list this scope on the Campfire for more than what one of my Campfire friends could purchase it for on eBay". (Well, that's sort of paraphrasing it.)

Just glad to see it go to a good home.
