I wrapped and Fletched a dozen arrows for my long bow . Carbon Express Heritage 150. Yesterday i bare shaft tuned the arrows to the bow cutting off a 1/4 inch until they where flying straight into the target . I wrapped them and Fletched with 5 inch Shield Feathers. I haven't installed the inserts , waiting for the Broadheads to arrive so i can aligned them with the Cock Feather . Here is a photo with the Samick 69 inch Longbow and shafts. I was surprised how well i was shooting yesterday instinct since it has been a number of years since shooting a bow without sights and peep. I can't wait to take my first deer with this setup, that is if i don't screw up and miss.

Looks like you got it going your way! Just getting back into it myself this year after a long sabatical. 45# recurve. Havent desided on the arrow rest yet. But going with carbons and more traditional heavier heads. Good luck to you! Our season starts September 15 this year. Full 2weeks earlier than anytime i know of.

Never used arrow wraps when making arrows. I always dip mine.

You like wraps? Durable? Fletching stick well?

First time i have used them , i have read a lot of complains of the fletching not sticking well on the bare shafts of the Carbon Express. Plus i fletched these with Fletching Tape not Glue and used my Blitzburger Jig

I have done both dipping and wraps on both alum and carbon shafts. Wraps are sooo much easier, less mess and they hold up well IME. I also use the bohning fletching tape, fletch a dozen arrows in less than an hr. I do use a dab of fletch tite on the ends of each feather to be extra secure. Another benefit is that it is much easier to re fletch (no scraping) plus no stripping off the old dip because you dinged up the paint scraping. Fletch tape holds ok on dips also. If you glue feathers/vanes to carbon you are stuck with it, so to speak, if a feather gets torn, or otherwise ruined, wraps and tape allow for easy repair. I do miss the smell of dipping arrows though.

I used a dab of insert cement on the end of the fetching for extra security .
