Looking for a top notch left handed concealed carry vest. So far I have returned 2. You wouldn't think a Ruger SP101 would be that obvious in a vest. So here I am asking for HELP again. All suggestions welcomed.

None. All vest scream gun.

Wear a unbuttoned shirt over it or wear it IWB.

I wear a vest a lot but I carry IWB. Any vest long enough to cover my belt will do the job. My holster is a Milt Sparks VMII with the tuckable clips. If I am going to be somewhere where I might be to warm to wear the vest I tuck in my shirt and can remove the vest.

I have a leather western cut vest, a Outback insulated vest, and a Filson wool vest. All will cover my untucked 1911 without printing.

Depends where you are. My part of the world vests are worn even by those so liberal the would wet themselves if the knew there was a gun in town.

At the range I use my Cabala's Safari vest and stick my full size 1911 in one of the pockets. The grip does stick out a little which is okay out there but I bet a commander size 1911 would work okay or something even smaller. There are so many pockets over the slanted hand warmer type pocket that if the gun is short enough no one will ever know. The down side is the vest is heavy and can be warm on hot days.

I wear mine in a Simply Rugged IWB Holster with either Safari Vest, Columbia Fleece Vest, or whatever light weight wind breaker I have handy in the summer.

Whatever you do, do NOT buy one of the "tactical" zillion pocket type vests. Those things DO scream ' gunny guy ' all over the place, especially in hot weather. I just buy regular old lightweight vests from normal clothing stores or wear an unbuttoned short out and over the gun.

There are few vests that you can carry the gun IN, that do not show the gun somehow and they are all going to be too thick and heavy and hot and obvious to wear all of the time.

don't over think this or spend a bunch of money on it. A good outside or inside the waistband holster with a shirt or light vest over it is the way to go.
