Thought I would post here before going to classifieds. I have a 45# right hand...60s era I believe. It has the "zebra" wood riser...straight limbs...no holes...there is still some residue from camo tape and name tag-just needs a little cleaning up, still. It's only real problem is- I'm left-handed and I would like to get into a lefty recurve or longbow. Any suggestions on what a fair asking price might be . I can email pics if anyone is interested.I sure wish this one was a lefty because I really like the looks of this era Griz!

The zebrawood Grizzlies were made in 1964-65.

They are excellent recurves and I'd ask $150-$175 for one in that condition. If it was in the 55# range it'd be worth well over $200.

I sold one last year for $300 but it was super clean and 55#.

If you really want a fair market value on it, you should put it on Ebay.

100s of Bear collectors scour Ebay every single day. It's the best way I've found to get top dollar for vintage Bears.

Post it on a Tuesday night and make it a 5 day aution. That way it'll end on a Sunday night and that'll bring you the most money.

I've sold countless bows on Ebay.

If the chunk of zebrawood is really super nice, the price will skyrocket.

My estimate was a generalization based on years of looking at the auctions.

I think several of us here would either like to see a picture here, or at least a link to your auction when it goes up.

I'm looking at getting a recurve bow, so I'm in the market.

I agree with Ghost, make it a five day auction, and run through late Sunday, and don't list on a holiday weekend.

Here's a nice '65. Dude is smokin crack if he thinks he'll get $400 for it though.

That is a nice bow but I don't think I will go the ebay route. I don't feel a great need to get max dollars out of it but my bow really has some pretty marbled grain to it. I'm having an awful time trying to post pics but if anyone cares to pm me an email address, I will try to send a couple. I would sell it for $175 shipped. Regards, Bruce

Thanks, Greg. There is still some residue from camo tape ...that is what you are seeing. I imagine that is the original string as my uncle now in his upper 80's hardly even shot it. Bruce

It's a real beauty.

Original rug rest and sideplate is nice to have too.

Just a real nice bow. It's a 1964 model btw.
