We have all had them.Something you really had to have and was the biggest disappointment on your life. One I had was a Steyr Pro Hunter. It had a sand blasted finish that just attracted rust. The stock was some kind of injected plastic that wobbled all over the place. On a good day you could get a 3" to 4" group. The throat was so long that Linda Lovelace was jealous.Really a piece of crap.I took it to a Gunsmith friend who could find nothing wrong with the bore or crown. He said it would be impossible to bed and advised me to send it down the road.I did.

Even more odd...
Guns that suck, but you love anyways...
My Remmington Nylon 66 .22LR....
It's become real picky in what ammo it likes to shoot in it's old age...
If that rear sight gets messed up, you have to replace the whole receiver plate, which doesn't even have a part number in the manual...
But, it and I have a lot of memories together, and I love that stupid thing...

Winchester 1400 20ga. No amount of cleaning/lubing would make it cycle reliably.

Had a Browning Challenger .22 pistol that sucked so hard it actually made a sound.
Hated that pistol. Never could get thru a clip without a jam.
I gave it away.

Those "sucking sounds" definitely trigger a trip down the road.

Mini 14's suck balls too. They cycle well enough but their factory trigger is crap and out of the 15 dad had over the years the best one shot 1.5" @ 100yds, the rest were much much worse.

AMT longslide 45 ACP, it was the late eighties, I had no patience, it was a jamming POS, tried new mags, and all available factory ammo. Put it in the shop vise and cut it to smoldering red chunks with the OX/ACET torch. I guarantee that pistol never caused another human grief. Gunner

Mossberg .410 bolt action. I was probably 9 or 10 when Dad got it for me at Kmart. After 2 or 3 seasons, the safety switch got stuck between "safe" and "fire", and it has remained there ever since. Meaning, the gun has remained unfired ever since.

+1 on the winchester 1400... Mine was a 12 ga. I traded it and some cash for a Benelli Nova. Never been so happy to be rid of a firearm as that one.

JM It is so odd that one man's "sucky" gun is another man's treasure. I still have my Browning Challenger (from 1973) and it is one of my favorite guns... I hate my BAR 338WM and my youngest son loves it... go figure Now the Rem Viper .22 rifle, now that is real "Sucky gun"

Temmi,
Everyone else that had one loved them. I just ended up with one that hated being shot. Lol.
The rem. 742 hangmaster certainly deserves a shout out.
I saw quite a few come back thru the door for repairs. The funny thing is people just kept on buying them.
