Another option I just remembered is you could use aviation gas which would have no E-10/15 and perhaps be a bit cleaner than normal service station fuel. I just inquired to a couple friends who work in or around my local sm. airport about availability to the public and they said 100 octane is for resale and it goes for about $5.85 a gallon as of about a week ago. That is still a much better deal than +/- $11.00. I was also told it is rated or good for about 4 years.

I'll second BWalker - Painter's naptha is basically the same stuff, and should be a lot less than $15.00 per gallon. It doesn't have the dyes or ethanol content of gasoline.

Aviation fuel is usually 100 LL (Low Lead) and is a high octane leaded fuel (outstanding for small engines, my chainsaw loves it), which I think would clog up a generator on a Coleman lantern. I was under the impression that Coleman fuel "white gas" was kerosene but I could be mistaken.

I think I gave $9+ for a gallon in wally world in flagstaff a couple weeks ago.
Naptha doesn't look to be that cheap around here.
Generators are getting harder to find, for some of the older stoves, anyway.

We sell the Coleman fuel for right at $9.97 or some such. We have a quart of premium fuel for around $7. I could never see the difference to encourage me to buy the premium. As I recall the new stoves and lanterns will burn unleaded gasoline if it does not have ethanol in it. If times get real hard maybe you can use 50/50 unleaded motor fuel and Coleman fuel as long as it does not have ethanol. kwg
