I was considering going with carbon fiber on a couple of knives but after a bit of research it didn't look like it will make much weight difference on slim handles.
For those of you with CF and G10 handled knives, if the weight difference enough to notice?
Thanks,
JCM

I'm pretty sre CF is way lighter I think if the scale thickness on the g-10 is thick, the CF would feel lighter & easily noticed. What I know about cf is it is pretty durable, prett grippy wet & hides scratches The g-10 is durable,IMO its not so grippy unless its got a bead blast, jigged or some finish, less than polished out

Thanks Vince. The scales would be pretty thin and the knives would be fairly small/slim, so I'm not sure how noticable it will be. I've been happy with G10 and Micarta, but have no experience with CF....

Def has grown on me over time.

VinceM---they can remove that growth with surgery and chemo.
I would make sure you have corbys or loveless style bolts holding the scales on. The carbon fiber doesn't seem to hold to pins and tangs well with 2 ton epoxy. Maybe something else would be better, just saying from my experience.... CF is definitely lighter than G10, but small amounts will be of little notice. jmho Tim

That's a good looking knife RD. I'm not much of a CF fan but I like it on that one. Very nice.

Thanks. I've seen CF that looked like [bleep], but the way Bret and Rick finish them, they turn out great looking.

That's a real good looking knife Roy. I like that design more each time I see it.

Thanks. I can't wait to see the new one either from Bret. I'm certain both will be perfect. I got a real beauty coming from Rick that he just finished up too.
